Join Me on a Book Tour of Tuscany

Have you dreamt of going to Italy, but the myriad details of planning a trip has proved so daunting it’s prevented you from achieving your dream? Or have you been to that magical country and are determined to return, but you don’t want to go alone? Have you read Bianca’s Vineyard and Domenico’s Table and longed to visit the people and places in them?
Well, Italy 4 Real, a well-known Seattle based travel company has come up with a solution. Rem Malloy, the owner, approached me at the Seattle Festa last year with the idea of doing a Bianca’s Vineyard and Domenico’s Table book tour to Tuscany.
Although we’re only in the pre-planning stages of developing a tour now, the most important part of putting a package together is finding out how many people would be interested. Ideally, a party of eight is the optimum on this tour. See Florence and Lucca and Pietrasanta, as well as locations depicted in my books: Forte dei Marmi, Casali di Montignoso, Armida Sigali’s grave, the home where Egisto Bertozzi was born and Bianca’s Vineyard. I’ll be there too, to answer questions and join in the fun, food and wine.

Another reminder, too, that if you’ve read Domenico’s Table and enjoyed it, please do me the honor of shooting off a quick review on Amazon. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy. It’s amazing how many people check those reviews before buying. I am forever grateful to those who have already done so with Bianca’s Vineyard.
Finally, several fascinating articles have popped up in the last few weeks that tie in with the themes in Bianca and Domenico. One is a report from Italy Magazine entitled, “Archaeologist Uncovered Clues to Ancient Roman Vineyard,” and includes information on DNA sequencing of ancient grape seeds.
